This piece is part of the Blue Papers series, inspired by the geometry of some of our favorite buildings. In this piece, the central figure emulates the floor plan of the Brick Country House, one of Mies van der Rohe’s unbuilt projects, renowned for its rational language and pursuit of spatial continuity.
Made of wood, the work combines light and dark planes that evoke the balance between structure and void characteristic of Mies’s architecture. The composition, with its precise lines and modular forms, translates his architectural thought into a contemporary visual language, where form becomes space.
